Our Services

Special Spirits offers exclusive respite services throughout the year, enriching the lives of children with special needs and their families.

Our daily programs

Sunday

Every Sunday afternoon, the dedicated volunteers at Special Spirits give parents and families a much needed break by taking the children and young adults on trips.

Trips Include: • Horse-riding • Bike Riding • Trampolining • High Ropes • Bowling • Golf • Aquariums • Museums • Parks.

Monday

Woodwork Workshop 5.15 – 6.45pm

The older boys enjoy a hearty meal after which they enjoy a woodwork workshop building hand eye coordination and measuring skills.

3.30 – 5pm Bounce ‘n jump session at the trampoline park.

The children have a fantastic time and enjoy themselves thoroughly, whilst getting a great workout – building their strength, flexibility and coordination.

Baking Club 5.00 – 7.00pm

The girls relax in a friendly environment and enjoy a nutritious supper followed by a baking session where they learn invaluable skills and healthy meal planning.

Tuesday

Soft Play 3.30 – 5pm

The younger children explore and enjoy the soft play centre where they experience an exciting network of tunnels, slides and fun filled obstacles to further the children’s developments.

Business Workshop 5.15 – 6.45pm

The older boys enjoy a warm supper together with their peers and then pack pecklach for the town simchas giving them the excellent business planning skills.

Fit ‘N Healthy Club 5.00 – 7.00pm

The young adults enjoy a healthy supper followed by an exercise session giving them vital tools to lead healthy lifestyle.

Wednesday

Trip + Supper 3.30 – 5pm

The children enjoy a trip to the park followed by a warm and tasty supper at the local restaurants.

Games Club 5.00 – 7.00pm

In a cosy environment the children enjoy a delicious meal after which the older boys partake in group activities and games involving social interaction.

Life skills club 5.00 – 7.00pm

The older girls learn valuable life skills including shopping, domestic skills, party planning.

Winter Moitzoei Shabbos programme

A weekly social group where children and young adults integrate with mainstream friends from the community and enjoy a Melave Malka at different local restaurants.

Day Camp

Special Spirits Day Camp runs during crucial and busy school holidays including Erev Pessach and summer holidays. Day camp offers full day programmes during school holidays with a range of activities, trips and entertainment, giving the children a fantastic time with their friends whilst providing family with respite.

winter Break

Residential Camp

The winter residential camp provides a one week unique experience where children enjoy a themed programme, suited to their individual needs, led by an enthusiastic team of volunteers. The children develop a special relationship with their volunteers and are given endless opportunities of fun, trips and activities in a warm, caring and safe environment, allowing their families to enjoy the much needed respite.

WEEKENDS

Shabbatons

Multiple residential weekends throughout the year provide the parents and families with a weekend of respite, whilst children enjoy a warm and meaningful Shabbos with home-cooked meals, singing and socialising together with their friends, making it a joyful experience of a home away from home.

Numerous Shabbatons include the various divisions for the different age groups and abilities so that each group can enjoy tailor made programs suited to their abilities and needs.

The family events offer really positive experiences for the whole family and a chance to have a good time together with other families facing similar challenges.
Bar/ Bas Mitzvas as well as birthdays are always a reason for celebration at Special Spirits bringing smiles to all those involved.
